Following his military service, Dr. Bernstein pursued residency training in Ophthalmology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He subsequently undertook a fellowship with Dr. Allan Kolker in St. Louis, MO, a renowned figure in the field of glaucoma and one of the original 13 founding members of the American Glaucoma Society.
